Certificate III in Mercantile Agent
Certificate III in Mercantile Agent is designed for individuals in job roles in the mercantile agents sector (debt collector) who apply a broad range of competencies using limited discretion and judgement while undertaking operations that may include debt collection. Individuals at this level apply knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and to take limited responsibility in known situations under general supervision. No licensing or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication. However, some units will specify relevant licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements that impact on the unit. Refer to the FNS Knowledge Guide Companion Volume for guidance on requirements.
This qualification has no entry requirements however there are preferred pathways into the qualification.
There are no prerequisites in order to undertake this course, however it is recommended that students have basic computer knowledge and skills.
Assessment includes combinations of practical and research projects, practical assessments, role plays, case studies and scenarios, written knowledge questions, examinations and presentations.
The primary pathway from this qualification is entry level employment in a range of financial services sectors. Specialist FNS10 Financial Services Training Package qualifications at Certificate IV such as Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Certificate IV in Accounting would support career progression.
