The Certificate III in Hairdressing qualification is nationally recognised. It has been designed as ‘THE STANDARD’ trade entry qualification for the hairdressing industry. This qualification provides you with the required knowledge and skills to competently perform as a qualified hairdresser

Functions at this level include applying skills and knowledge to sell products and services, ensuring a safe working environment and performing a full range of hairdressing services.

By undertaking this qualification you will develop the skills to enable you to work as part of a team in a national or international salon, performing a range of services that include:

  • Male & female hair services
  • Client consultation and advice
  • Hair and scalp treatments
  • Hair cutting
  • Hair design
  • Permanent waving
  • Straightening
  • Product advice and sales
  • Colour and lightening
  • Chemical reformation services
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

All applicants must be a minimum of 16 years old and must be employed either Part-Time (21 hours on avg per week) or Full-Time ; and

Must meet language, literacy and numeracy standards

PROGRAM DELIVERY & DURATION

1st and 2nd Year: Fortnightly on the job training combined with your on the Job (Employment)
3rd Year: Fully on the Job (Employment)

Pathways

On successful completion of the Certificate III in Hairdressing, students will be competent to work as qualified Hairdressers within the Australian Hair and Beauty Industry. Students can also articulate into a Certificate IV in Hairdressing or directly enrol into the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management.
